What is a trambunctious traveler?

Tramsbunctious, as defined by lonelyplanet.com, is a person overly excited by trains, funiculars, and other forms of public transport. Ok - it's not a real word, but it should be. It's the perfect adjective to describe me when I travel. I'm the person with the big, giddy smile trying to take it all in - the sights, sounds, people, movement, and yes, even the smells. It's all part of the travel experience.

The exception is airplanes. I fly because it gets me from point A to point B, but I don't like it. I'm the person with my eyes shut, praying during takeoff. To me, it just defies all logic that something that big stays in the sky. My hubby, the airplane mechanic, has tried many times to explain it to me to ease my fears. Despite my fear, I fly because I know when the plane reaches its destination, there is an adventure to be had.

Feel free to follow along and experience travels thru my eyes.  I'm not a world traveler (at least not yet), but to me, anywhere outside of the bubble of my mid-size Midwestern town is exotic.  Even the ordinary can be extraordinary if you are a trambunctious traveler.
