The drive to Lake George was beautiful. NYC comes to mind when you think if NY - hustling and bustling cities. But NY is so much more -- it's full of quaint little town that look like postcard pictures from days gone by. There are lots of lakes, trees, hills and mountains. On our way here, we drove some 2 lane highways that winded and rolled and up and down hills past vineyards and apple orchards. We stayed with family in 2 of the postcard worthy towns - Mendon and Skaneateles.
We arrived at Lake George last night. It's nestled in the Adirondak mountains. Check out the views from our second story condo at the lodge - breathtaking. It's such a treat to be greeted by mountains and the sun shining off the lake when waking up. I've got my coffee in hand and the fireplace on this chilly morning.
We're taking a river ride today on the Mohican, an old paddleboat. Some of Eric's family is coming up to visit. We'll look for Cleverdale - the site where his grandma's cabin used to stand. This is where he spent summers as a kid. Lucky guy!! Looking forward to seeing his family and hearing stories.
Time to turn off the electronic devices and enjoy our view :)
