"There is a difference"
Last year, I visited Montreal for the first time. Before going, I made sure I knew some basic French - like the word for restroom. Feeling pretty confident on my first night in town, I headed off to the restroom during the hockey game. I found a sign labeled "hommes" and was fairly certain it was a restroom sign because there was a crowd heading in. I followed the crowd. Cool, I thought, they've got separate restrooms for the home team and visitors. WRONG! I quickly learned hommes means mens and femmes means women.
